Andy Murray is the hot favourite for the big award

The public will decide which of the 16
nominees will be named 2016's BBC Sports Personality of the Year tonight in a live ceremony at Birmingham's Genting Arena.

The presentation of the 2016 SPOTY and all of the other awards will be broadcast live on BBC1 from 6.40pm and covered in full right here by MirrorSport.
Gabby Logan, Gary Lineker and Clare Balding are the hosts, who will also be conducting interviews with all the nominees for the top prize and winners.
Andy Murray is the hot favourite for the big award, but will need the public's vote to win his third SPOTY after an incredible year on the court which climaxed with him finishing as
world No.1.
The other contenders are boxer Nicola Adams,Gareth Bale, Alistair Brownlee, SophieChristiansen, Kadeena Cox, Mo Farah, Jason Kenny, Laura Kenny, Andy Murray, Adam Peaty,Kate Richardson-Walsh, Nick Skelton, Dame
Sarah Storey, Jamie Vardy, Max Whitlock and Danny Willett.
