This image shows the body of the gunman who opened fire at an art
gallery, killing the Russian ambassador to Turkey by shooting him in the
back.
The picture shows policeman Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş surrounded by bullet holes and blood after being shot twice in the chest.
He assassinated Ambassador Andrei Karlov last night after pointing his gun into the air and screaming: "We die in Aleppo, you die in here."
The incident happened at an art gallery in Ankara, as Moscow said it believes it was a 'terrorist act'.
His family, including his mother, father and sister, and his flatmate were taken in for questioning today as detectives investigate extremist links.
Altintas is believed to be 22 years-old, from Ankara and attended the local police academy.
He is reported to have been discharged from the police after taking part in the failed military coup in July.
