A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death on Christmas Eve.
The victim - named locally as 19-year-old construction worker Owen Kerry - died after being rushed to hospital with stab wounds.
He was attacked inside Cramlington Workmen's Club, near Newcastle upon Tyne, just before 10.30pm.
Two people, a man aged 35 and woman aged 36, are being questioned on suspicion of murder.
Northumbria Police said in a statement: "A 19-year-old man was treated by paramedics at the scene and was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, but sadly died at hospital as result of
his injuries.
